Terms & Conditions

Last updated: April 2026

These Terms govern your use of slowingtheclock.com (the "site") and any guides, booklets, or other digital products you buy from us. By using the site or buying anything from us, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

We've tried to write this in plain English. If anything's unclear, get in touch.

Who we are

The site is operated by Slowing the Clock. References to "we", "us", and "our" mean Slowing the Clock; references to "you" and "your" mean the person using the site or buying our products.

To contact us about anything in these Terms, email us via our contact page.

Using the site

You're welcome to read, share, and link to anything on the site. We just ask that you don't:

  • Republish our content elsewhere without permission
  • Scrape, copy, or systematically extract content
  • Use the site in any way that's unlawful, harmful, or infringes someone else's rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its underlying systems

We may withdraw or restrict access to all or part of the site at any time, without notice, where we reasonably need to.

Our content is for information only — not medical advice

Everything on the site is general information about longevity, health, and wellbeing. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.

You should always speak to your doctor before making significant changes to your diet, exercise, sleep, medication, or any other aspect of your health — particularly if you have an existing medical condition, are pregnant, or are taking prescription medication.

We do our best to base our content on credible peer-reviewed research, but we can't guarantee that any information on the site is complete, current, or applicable to your individual circumstances. You use the information at your own risk.

Buying digital products from us

When you buy a guide, booklet, or other digital download from us:

Pricing. All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. We display the total price before you confirm your purchase.

Payment. Payment is taken at the time of purchase via our payment processor. We don't store your card details ourselves.

Delivery. Digital products are delivered as a download link or by email immediately after payment is confirmed. If you don't receive your download within an hour, contact us and we'll sort it out.

Refunds. Because digital products are delivered immediately and can't be returned, we don't offer refunds as standard. However, if there's a genuine problem — the file is corrupted, you didn't receive it, the content is materially different from what was described — please contact us within 14 days of purchase and we'll either fix the problem or refund you. We'll always try to be reasonable.

Your rights under UK consumer law are unaffected by anything in these Terms.

Mailing list and email

If you sign up to our mailing list (including by downloading our free booklet), we'll send you emails about our content, programmes, and occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link at the bottom of any email. We won't share your email with anyone else.

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Our content belongs to us

The content on the site — articles, guides, images, design, code — is owned by Slowing the Clock or licensed to us. You can read it and share links, but you can't republish, repurpose, or sell it without our written permission.

If you've bought a guide from us, that copy is for your personal use. Please don't share, redistribute, or resell it.

Links to other sites

We sometimes link to other websites and services. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, accuracy, or how they handle your data. If you follow a link, please read the linked site's own terms and privacy policy.

Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • Anything else that can't be limited or excluded by law

Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • We provide the site and our content "as is" without any warranties
  • We're not liable for any decisions you make based on information from the site
  • We're not liable for any indirect or consequential losses (such as loss of income, loss of opportunity, or loss of data)
  • Our total liability for any claim relating to a digital product you've bought from us is limited to the amount you paid for that product

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top tells you when. If we make significant changes, we'll do our best to let you know — for example, by email if you're on our mailing list. Continuing to use the site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be dealt with by the courts of England and Wales.

Questions

If anything in these Terms is unclear or you'd like to raise a concern, please get in touch. We try to respond within a few working days.

These Terms are written in plain English. Where there's any ambiguity, we'll interpret them sensibly and in good faith.
